“Mr. Scorsese” documentary trailer explores directing great

Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for Mr. Scorsese, a five-part documentary event from acclaimed filmmaker Rebecca Miller. The series promises an intimate, richly layered exploration of Martin Scorsese, one of cinema’s most influential and enigmatic figures. Featuring never-before-seen footage and in-depth conversations with those closest to him, the trailer offers a striking glimpse into the emotional heart of the series, as Scorsese reflects on human nature and the enduring tension between good and evil throughout his life and career.

Mr. Scorsese is described as a cinematic portrait of the legendary filmmaker, examining his extraordinary career and personal history through the lens of his work. With exclusive, unrestricted access to Scorsese’s private archives, the documentary is anchored by extensive interviews with Scorsese himself, along with friends, family members, and a who’s who of creative collaborators. Featured voices include Robert De Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, Thelma Schoonmaker, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Jodie Foster, Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Jay Cocks, Rodrigo Prieto, Scorsese’s children, wife Helen Morris, and close childhood friends.

Spanning his earliest New York University student films to his most recent work, the series delves into the themes that have defined Scorsese’s career, including his ongoing fascination with the nature of good and evil. Each episode reveals how his personal experiences have shaped his artistic vision, resulting in films that continually astonished audiences with their originality and emotional power.

Directed by Rebecca Miller (She Came to Me, Personal Velocity: Three Portraits), Mr. Scorsese was developed by Miller and Damon Cardasis at Round Films, alongside producer Cindy Tolan. Miller, Cardasis, and Tolan, the Emmy Award-nominated team behind Arthur Miller: Writer, serve as executive producers with Rick Yorn, Christopher Donnelly, and Julie Yorn. Ron Burkle produces, with Robert Fernandez and Patrick Walmsley as co-executive producers. The series is presented by Expanded Media and Round Films in association with LBI Entertainment and Moxie Pictures.
